Uralmashplant (UZTM, part of UZTM-KARTEX group) became certified manufacturer of equipment for the Turkish nuclear industry: the company received a confirmation document from the country's nuclear regulatory Agency (NDK).

UZTM received the certificate following the audit carried out at the plant by representatives of the Turkish Atomic Energy Authority (TAEK) in October to check compliance with the NPP equipment manufacture requirements.

The scope of the certificate issued to Uralmashplant covers manufacture of fuel-handling machines, polar and special cranes, as well as trestle cranes for Turkish nuclear power plants under construction. The certificate is valid for five years.

The first order placed on UZTM provides for manufacture of 110 units of lifting equipment for four power units of Akkuyu NPP, which is under construction on the southern coast of Turkey under a Russian project led by Rosenergoatom Concern. According to the contract, Uralmashplant will manufacture 108 cranes and hoists with lifting capacity of 2 to 16 tons, and two cranes for fresh-fuel storage of 50/5 tons each. The latter will be designed for handling nuclear fuel and will have the highest safety class and quality requirements. Customer will receive the equipment in the first quarter of 2025.
