Uralmashplant JSC (UZTM, a member of UZTM-KARTEX group) has completed the shipping of equipment for the reconstruction of the induration machine complex at the pelletizing and metallization plant of Oskolskiy Electrometallurgical Works named after A.A.Ugarov (OEMK, a member of Metalloinvest). The equipment has been shipped to the customer in strict compliance with the schedule, and today the parties are getting ready to commence the erection.
The reconstruction of the pelletizing shop of OEMK is the largest investment project in Russian metallurgical industry today. The project includes the modernization and partial replacement of the existing shop equipment and construction of a new raw pelletizing line. Uralmashplant is an integrated supplier of engineering, equipment, and services for the project under the contract signed in August 2020.
UZTM, as a developer and the manager of the project, also provides process performance guarantees for the pelletizing shop and the quality of pellets produced after the modernization.
According to the deputy chief designer (metallurgical equipment) of Uralmashplant, Mr. Yaroslav Kalugin, in the result of the reconstruction, the capacity of the complex will be increased by more than 10%, up to 4.5 million ton of oxidized pellets per annum.
"In total there are about 20 highly qualified subsuppliers participating in the project together with UZTM as well as the leading Russian engineering companies. Together we will supply more than 35 types of different equipment including the state of art automated process control system for the shop." says Yaroslav Kalugin.
The main equipment: a 3.6x14 m drum pelletizer and a raw pellet disintegrator manufactured by Uralmashplant and its subsidiary Uralmash – Mining Equipment was completed last week. The commencement of the election works is planned to February, and the full completion of the reconstruction works shall take place in December 2022.
