UZTM-KARTEX Group that consolidates the leading manufacturers of mining equipment Uralmashplant and IZ-KARTEX will supply eleven mining shovels EKG-20 to the major Indian coal-mining concern Coal India Ltd (CIL).
Today in Kolkata, Yan Tsenter, CEO of UZTM-KARTEX, and Binay Dayal, technical director of Coal India Ltd in the presence of Pramod Agrawal, chairman of the board of CIL, have signed the supply contract. The contract also provides for supply of SPTA during eight years after commissioning of the first shovel and service support of machines. The transaction amounts to USD250 million.
Coal India Limited acquires high-performance machinery within the program for development of the Indian coal-mining industry. The Indian company plans to increase annual coal production to 1 billion tons towards 2023.
"Today we have signed a history-making contract, which opens up new horizons for the entire coal-mining industry of India. This all time buy of identical high-performance machines will allow the company to significantly increase the production, appreciably reduce the cost owing to equipment downtime thanks to construction of warehouses of spare parts, and receive service support for a period of eight years," said Pramod Agrawal.
