Sintering and Indurating Equipment

Group’s range of equipment traditionally includes sintering equipment: since 1934 Uralmashplant is designing and manufacturing sintering and indurating conveyor machines and other main process equipment for pelletizing and sintering plants (drum, screw, and rotary mixers; drum and bowl pelletizers; raw pellet crushers; roller and vibrating screens; special conveyors; double-valve gates; ball drum mills, etc.). During this period the company executed more than 250 major projects which included the complete supply of process lines

Since 2011, Uralmashplant has delivered and launched a number of modern complexes of pelletizing plants and sinter plants of various capacities in Russia and abroad. Each project included process and design solutions that ensure the performance of pellet and sinter production on par with the world's best analogues.

Indurating Machines

Conveyor-type indurating machines are used for the production of pellets for various purposes: fluxed and non-fluxed pellets are used for metallization and blast furnace production, non-ferrous metallurgy and Ferroalloy production. Processed raw materials include hematite and magnetite concentrates, iron ore concentrates with high content of sulfur and silica, titanomagnetites with a high content of vanadium, oxide and carbonate manganese ores, copper-and-nickel concentrates, etc.

Key characteristics:

Process area, m2 52 - 1000
Raw pellets layer width, m 1,5 - 4,0
Raw pellets layer height, m up to 0,55
Pellet car travel speed, m/min 0,6 - 8
Specific output, t/(m2 х hour) 0,9–1,3

Linear Sinter Coolers

Linear sinter coolers are conveyor-type devices with a continuously moving conveyor chain, continuous hot sinter loading, sinter cooling by blowing air through the sinter layer, and discharging it via a discharge tray.

Key characteristics:

Cooling area, m2 up to 450
Effective width, m up to 3,5
Sinter layer height, m up to 1,5
Cooler incline, degrees up to 16
Output, t/h up to 1000
Charging sinter temperature, Сo up to 850
Sinter output temperature, Сo up to 100

Linear cooler advantages: *

Effective placement of sinter on the belt (larger pieces are placed in the bottom layer, then the fine fraction and the average fraction is placed in the top layer uniformly over the belt width). No special feeder required; sinter is loaded via a tray with self-lining and minimum height difference.

Simple in configuration (straight) guides that increase durability of rollers and guides.

Can be installed at an angle to the horizontal. Ability to raise sinter to needed level for further processing: primary sorting, additional crushing etc. without using additional conveyors and special mechanisms. Allows reducing the overall height of the sinter plant and the total weight of equipment.

- Linear coolers, due to their shape, can be more effectively combined with other technological and service equipment: conveyors, blowers, lifting devices.

Occupies much smaller area.

Relatively low cost for repair because of simple construction.

The removal of sinter spilled under the linear cooler is performed by a simple linear conveyor without stopping the cooler operation.

Sinter unloading doesn’t require additional mechanisms like feeders, special conveyors, and other equipment.

Sintering Machines

Designed to produce iron-containing, manganese, and nickel sinter; for induration of lead concentrates (bottom air blowing machines); and to process production waste in the ferrous and nonferrous metallurgy facilities.

Key characteristics:

Sintering area, m2 5,2 - 408
Width of sintered layer, m 0,75 - 4,5
Height of sintered layer (max.), m up to 0,73
Speed of sintering cars (max.), m/min 0,3 - 5
Specific output, t/(m2 х hour) 1,1–1,8*
Commercial product iron-ore, manganese, chromium, phosphorous sinter; iron flux
* The output depends on the quality of components used for sintering and of local process conditions.
